TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
And there's no way I would take a sales position with them. The account managers have the shelf life of an avocado. I've been through 4 reps in the Chicago region over 6 years.
Our company is made up of warring factions. You don't get ahead by doing well. You get ahead by highlighting the mistakes of others.

Mornin Wood buddies.
Glad I don't have to endure management again. Been through several generations of them, all with their own particular style of logic. Or maybe it was lack of it. The best ones seldom lasted long. All at the top, the large herd of VPs and the ones above titled chief whatever, had one thing in common, claimed their predecessors were inefficient and they would change that by re-inventing the wheel, which we peons could see was the same out of round wheel with the same flaws their predecessors invented over and over, and by the time it was painfully tuned to a somewhat bumpy operation, it was the same thing again. Except for the last iteration before meltdown and acquisition by another company, headed by a guy called the weasel by his adoring employees. Well, the ones that were left, anyway. He smiled and waved at me once, and I gave him the standard employee glare back. He probably thought a lot of the peons had strange smiles.
I had an interview for a management position once with that company. The interviewing white shirt and I never spoke to each other again, nor did the subject ever come up again.

Re-Morning, Woods.....
Bob, that sucks! I found out 50 yrs ago that I hate companies, I hate "bosses" and I hate working for anybody. When i was in the Orthopedic business, it was a hybrid type deal and it worked well . THe distributor that I "worked" for was a good guy and I lasted 14 yrs.. He got canned and the new guy was an ***...I lasted 2 years and quit.
