More cleared out. This was all trees before. The second pic is around the corner from the end of the first. That metal shed will be inside the new fence.

Saw the video of the pilot putting it in the water. He tried to keep it close to the shore as he could, but too many people coming out to take cell phone pictures.
I saw something similar about 5-6 years ago in Put-In-Bay in Lake Erie..... waiting at the ferry port with luggage while son-in-law went back to get the women and kids. Small light plane came down along the front of the ferry dock and the pilot put it in the water in front of the ferry. The ferry pilot laid on his horn big time and the crew scurried around tossing lines off.... I swear it looked like the ferry "jumped" out of the water and rushed to the plane. I saw two heads pop up from the sinking plane.... both pilot and passenger made it out. Never did find out what really happened....they were only half mile from the small airport on the island. Scary watching to be sure.
