Had a fairly easy day with the grandkids, then took them home, picked up a pizza on the way, and just about when we finished it at my daughter's house, everyone's phone went off together around 6pm, notice of county curfew starting at 7pm. Got home with 10 minutes to spare, but I doubt even an hour later suburban cops would have been concerned about an old fat white guy in a pickup. ****'s hitting the fan over the latest black man getting shot by a cop, and the metro area's a powder keg now. I thought the riots would start back up when it warms up, didn't take long. Wouldn't surprise me if it's worse this year than last year.
On the way to her house, saw my first blm sign, white guy by himself was walking around in a busy intersection (admittedly staying out of the way of moving cars) holding it up. To me, he's just supporting domestic terrorism. He probably won't be the only one this year.
Now to read the last 10 pages to catch up.

Bob, here's a classic blast from the past - if you find yourself in the meeting with the new boss or HR where they're going to dismiss you - practice this line. "Can you stop for a moment ? " then pause for about 5 seconds then say "If you can speed this up I can make a 10:00 tee time ". That will F'up their game and really throw them off plus you'll have a great story to tell when you retire. I'd be so proud of you !!

Bob, sorry to hear your woes. I was kinda in a similar situation before I retired. Transferred management responsibilities for our procurement from Michigan to corporate on east coast. They knew who we were, but did not "know" us, what we really did, how we did our business, and our relationships with our vendors and suppliers. They kept mandating us to do their will with their resources all based out east. Some wouldn't deal with us due to shipping costs. But this was all our fault for not working with them. I was never so happy to retire. I wish you well and hope things work out for you. Sometimes (more often than not) they shoot their own feet off and do more damage than good, and yet you pay the price. Hopefully you can continue to do your job, excel as normal, and make them rue the decision they made. Good Luck!!

Good morning all. Got about a third done on my latest landscape project last evening after work. I am installing some of the left over pavers in the front planting area. There will be a little pad for the concrete bench at the end of it. At the bottom of hill of the street leaving our neighborhood raveling aggregate from the chip a seal treatment tends to gather at the invert edge where it ties in to the main road. It's always a spot we have to be careful when turning in on the bikes. I actually took a bucket down there and collect what I need for the base material. It works perfect. It's like granite screenings. Everyone ride safe.
