I missed this before. I have been sleeping better the past two weeks, actually getting 4, 5 and even 6 hrs uninterrupted sleep. One of the DRs suggested something called Cognitive Based Therapy...read about it a little but was a little complicated. It involved a 5 week period, keeping a journal and some other BS. I totally changed my sleeping habits. Stopped sleeping on couch in family room where I have been really comfortable. Set up my air mattress and memory pad from the lake in one of the spare bedrooms. Go to bed at the same time every night, small TV on with earbud and volume so low that I don't understand a word, just background noise and Melantonin..so far it's been working mostly.
The only problem is getting up an going to the bathroom multiple times. Mostly caused by 4 BP pills which also act a diuretic and one diuretic pill. This should get better once they get me off some of these *&^%^^&* pills. I've been told it's a long process and not going to happen overnight. I told them that " I don't work that way, I want it fixed now" ....They laugh.

 

A word of caution, Al....unplug the headphones before ya go to the can.

 

haha...yeah, I found that out the first few nights. just one small ear bud , so it pops out easily. On another note, I start with a new personal physician today. My friend and Doctor for 40 yrs, retired a few weeks ago. I feel sorry for the new guy. His office is around the corner from me within 100yds which is a plus.

 

Maybe the new guy will let you keep a personal coffee mug in the waiting area, Al.

Highly doubt it. Never going to let me prescribe my own tests either...these new guys are funny that way...

cdl phycians make us do a sleep study before we get a medical card.....talk about extortion......I have less than a year and a half til retirement.....I sleep just fine ,but they don't believe you...measure your neck and if it's over 17 inches you go thru the process........retarded.
