TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
I rode it on the toughest terrain I've ever been on (an old mining road strewn with boulders and washout) and I managed to keep it upright. Stumbled a few times because of its height and my lack of height. I had to pick my way along and it was very technical ride. One of those when you get done, youre mentally tired.
One of the biggest turnoffs for me has been the ANTI-Harley mentality of Dual Sport Riders. Its was a common bitch and LOL session for all of the riders I chatted with during the event. I'd wait a while, then when I heard enough, I'd tell them about my other bike which was a Road King at the time. I'm sure you've been there yourself.
On of these days I am going to pick up a 883 Sportster, fashion it with straight pipes and some mods to make it off-road worthy and then attend some events with it. Roaring in and roaring out, first one up in the AM and firing it up during breakfast, just to rattle those windbags a few times during the event. I've had my eye on a few and I have a local guy who is a bike builder and will most likely do the mods for me.

Yes, I've been around many of those types. Out of spite I rode my Street Glide in a group ride with one of the faster groups I ride with populated with avid Harley haters. Some of them felt pretty stupid getting dropped by a bagger. And the better riders were impressed that they didn't have to wait up.
I don't have familiarity with the Hex. But I've heard good things. It has glass and aluminum instead of plastic. Personally I would do the SMSc again because it's worked so well for my needs. But of it was a duty pistol I would probably at least audition the Hex. Lifetime warranty is pretty nice too.

A late Wood from Miami, Jose, would tease us with the local weather down there. Hope it doesn't ruffle anyone's feathers...just a tip of the hat to him.
Chuck, nice weather there too, but it always is where you are, you chase it.
I wasn't sure how long you'd been around. I never met him, just chatted on Facebook & text with him.
