Just watched a couple of videos by “A German in Venice ( CA.) about the homeless encampments on Venice beach. I remember when I was there 10 years ago, we walked the boardwalk and there were no homeless. Now it looks like Bombay India

 

Years ago I lived in Marina del Ray, Chuck, a stone's throw from the boardwalk and Venice beach. Sad to see for sure. It was a great place.

 

The second video was Skid Row, which for those that don’t know is very close to downtown LA & Hollywood. It makes Venice Beach look clean. He said to dangerous for “ Normal “ people to get near.

 

Sadly the mental health people will say it is because we aren't throwing enough money at the mentally ill, the social workers will say it is because there aren't enough case workers to help everyone, the police will say the lenient courts let criminals on the streets far too often and no one will say what the real problem is....government handouts. I bet ya almost all the 'homeless people' are receiving benefits of some sort from state and federal agencies. Make it easy to live on the street, that's exactly what they will do.
