Al, revisiting the gun discussion, I have a Shield that has served me well for many years as a carry gun. I've put 1000s of rounds through it with no issues at all. It eats everything I feed it. Carries slim and light. It's being replaced with a Hellcat. Almost the exact same size and thickness, but with more ammo capacity. I like the red dot too. But the sights are fantastic as well. Can't say how long term reliability will be, but so far, with 500 rounds or so of ball ammo has been trouble free.
Bob, the Shield was the other one #2 son recommended. I'm not into guns anymore, so I take the recommendation of someone who's life depends on a gun. I do the same thing with him when i need a computer. I tell him " I need a computer for xxxxxxx and I want to spend around....." . With #1 son, I say " Find me a boat for......". It feels good to be able rely on my kids. Saves me a lot of work buying something I know nothing about"...
