I treat all of my hunting clothes and boots with Permethrin and it seems to work well without that kerosene smell.

We used to dust the crap out of ourselves with sulphur powder. I remember a summer spent fencing 50 acres with 5 strand barbed wire. Just me, a little Ford 8N tractor with an auger and a tamping bar to set the posts. Good times.

That's what I use. Depending on location and time of year we have mosquitos and ticks. The tick thing can be a real issue with us being a hotspot for Lyme disease. Definitely something you don't want. I've been in situations where it was cloudy with mosquitos and the Permetherin created a force field around me. Everyone else was getting devoured and the mosquitos wouldn't even land on me.

We have a 3D Archery club in Terrell. The Mosquito is the club mascot so they are protected, if one lands on you it's best just to let them feed and move on. As for ticks and chiggers you take all of them home you can carry.

Bob, they were too skeered to land on you.
