Mornin everbuddy, rain here, too. I was thinking yesterday, with temp around 42, do I want to see if I can navigate the snow/ice patch at the bottom of the driveway since it's supposed to get a fresh coat of white tonight? If the road crews don't put a fresh coat of salt on the wet roads, now it looks like riding weather is here next week. Short rides, 40's is still a bit on the cool side.

Heard a train horn around 6 this morning, nearest track is 3 miles in a straight line from here, usually only hear one if the weather is just right, don't think I ever heard it during a light rain before. Wonder if the folks that live close to the track can sleep through that. I lived a stone's throw from RR tracks when Dad was in Korea, must have been 4, loved the sound of the diesels going by. That ended when I saw him walking up the dirt road from the highway on the other side of the tracks, carrying his duffel bag, war was over and never lived near tracks again. Hadn't seen him in over a year, since I was 3, but still knew it was Dad. Too bad we can't re-live some moments in life, that was a good one.

Well I guess winter is over, suppose to get 88F today. We may have one or two cool snaps left but our winter is usually January and February. Mostly January. We jokingly say there are two seasons here, summer and January. I will be slathering on the sunscreen 50 for the ride today.

Mornin’ Moldy. You do relive that that moment, every time you think of it.

Morning Russ, Mike, Doc, Al, Chuck, and Jeff.

40 and foggy here. If it clears up I might get another ride in today. Considering the crappy winter we had, I guess I should be happy that I got out in February at all.

I got 3 more security cameras this past week, two lithium battery wireless, one for the front of the house and one back. Be easy to steal or disable these things, but it'd get a video of whoever did it and I could watch it live on the phone, taking photos if something interesting showed up, like a car license plate, until it got out of range. Would have been nice to have night vision as good as these things have when I pulled perimeter guard duty a few times, might have been able to see the guy shooting at us with a pistol one night. What kind of fool snipes at a .50 machine gun and 40mm grenade launcher equipped guard tower with a pistol? Bet it scared the **** out of him when 40mm's started popping around him. That was actually kind of fun...

Haha.....amazingly, since I bought the house next door, she's learned to cut *&*&^%^&*& grass, trim shrubs and help clean snow. I should have bought it 20 yrs ago. Last summer, she was responsible for all lawn maintenance because I wasn't here very much.
