That is just not scientifically accurate Al. The black absorbs light and imbues its fast properties on the object. Same reason black motorcycles are faster and why drinking black coffee makes you faster. It's science.

I call ...it all has to do with air flow, friction and resistance. The smooth surface of chrome, lowers air friction resistance.....less friction improves aerodynamic flow allowing more speed...jeeZ!

 

I'm going to assume you were talking about them and not accusing me. I'd like to think you know me better.
True Al, but you forgot one thing. The black surface has small pockets, that when moving through the air fill with tiny pockets of air and it's as if the air is only moving through itself. Think Bernoulli's principal here. It creates a low pressure zone and pulls itself forward. The black is like magic.

 

IF that were the case.....then airplanes, race cars and the space shuttle would all be painted black...

 

 

Morning Russ!

Forties and sunny today. It's creating quite a sloppy mess on the roads, but worth it to make all the white stuff go away. The weather guessers said that we have more snow on the ground than recent years and some of the snow banks will hang around until June. Blech.......
