We have not had any loss of power, no burst pipes and are tucked away with a good supply of food, firewood and libation. We feel very fortunate, our only tribulation is getting the dog to do her business in snow as deep as she is tall.

I'm at work, made it in without too much fuss. Power stayed on overnight. It kicked on while I was sleeping and stayed on. I don't know if it will last. My partner has been without power and water for 6 days now, not even rolling black outs. The ice snapped over 100 poles. He has a generator and got fuel yesterday. He said this weekend he's taking his family to a hotel so they could get warmed up and clean. I offered him a place with me, but I still don't have water so he politely declined.

No, we had horse years ago when the kids were younger. Did some trail riding until my wife got thrown off in the middle of nowhere and we decided that it wasnt fun anymore. The money we were spending to keep them as well was a lot. We turned them out to pasture after selling mine. Its a lot of work and constant attentiveness. Then I found a Harley Sportster for sale and that sealed the deal.

The horses we have on our farm are my DIL. I dont mind them around and I dont have to buy much for them now. Kids take care of that themselves for the most part.

 

Everyone be careful with the falls, *glares at Ken* they can cause a lot of problems, and just plain suck on the best of times. Tanya almost fell down the icy stairs yesterday while I was at work and she'd have had no way to call for help. If you ask me, that's just not thinking...
