Our power came back on about 2PM so we are back on with the heat. One of my vertical pipes to the pool however was not happy and split itself. We were doing good with the freeze cycle pump program, everything was working good then the power went out for 7 hours with a low temp of 4°. Didn’t take long for that pipe to freeze up and crack.
I’ve been working on the Maine thread since it’s inception. I’ve warned those people repeatedly, banned one today and told another he was in the queue if he didn’t slow his roll trying to make it all about him again. I keep tabs on it because
A) That’s what we’re supposed to do
B) I’m interested to see how this plays out and so are quite a few others.

If you haven't already, turn off the water to the house, hopefully you have an inside valve. If there's a break and the water is on, you could have a mess when it starts thawing. Usually you can just crack the house valve open a bit and hear water flow if it's a bad break and the pipes had enough time to thaw out; you can be looking for visible water or drywall getting a water spot right away when you control the water flow, won't sneak up on you like a gradually thawing frozen section. Especially important if you have to sleep before the pipes can thaw. When the power is on and the house gets warm again, give the pipes at least a couple hours to start thawing, if you don't hear running water in the pipes when the main valve is open, then run all the faucets and toilets to see if they flow normal. Check for leaks everywhere the pipes run until you're satisfied there are no leaks. I've seen a broken pipe in a wall make a mess in a closet where it wasn't noticed for several hours.
I’m going to pick up a 7500 watt just to keep around. I don’t want to go through the trouble of moving circuits to another panel so I’ll go with that little device I posted earlier to plug it into the house.

Russ, I heard a story today that the windmills had frozen and were being sprayed with de-icer by helicopters.
hey, Greg. watching Tucker and they showed the frozen windmills. They had a remote control quad copter with a line going to it deicing the blades.
looks like the least coast will be on the /or warm side of whatever storm you want to call it tonight...slowing my roll tonight will probably be a good thing....beats sitting home with no pay...burned thru my discrepancy days before January was over....only get 4 a year.
Hey, Rocket....get yer *** to work. There's people in here depending on you to fund our Social Security payments.
