I was dumb enough to tell him how much my raise was and it was bigger than his. He was pissed and I lost my raise. Learned a lesson there.
Well in this case I'm that old man.

But the difference is, I'm better than the guy they're hiring as well as the other current project managers. It's my experience that they needed to start an entirely new department with an entirely new product. The company they are partnering with on this was one of my clients when I had my business. I have done probably 50 times the business we are currently doing in partnership with them. When I went to the facility with representatives from our company, it was funny because everyone came up to me "Bob - great to see you! We're really glad you're involved!" and that kind of stuff. Honestly, without me the experiment is doomed. Or a helluva lot harder than it would be with me anyway.

And everyone knows it. Except HR who is responsible for pay rate. They could give a crap.

She very much reminds me of my former boss, but darker. Same smug/bitchy smile.

Mick, Kristi and I both use the Bose QuietControl 30 noise cancelling. We like them because

1. They’re wireless, can hook up to your phone and bike at the same time.
2. They’re tethered so they won’t get lost.
3. Very long battery life.
4. Good sound.
