John, I have never been one to shy away from spirits but I honestly do not remember if I have ever had any Johnny Walker.

I recall the days when I would buy The Macallan 18 for $80/bottle. It was worth it. Now I hear it's $350/bottle. That's just nuts and even if I was wealthy I wouldn't buy it because it simply does not deliver to that extent. Not by a mile! From there I went to Balvenie 21, which was still under $100 at the time. Then that went nuts and I switched to 17. Then to 15. Now I'm content to have Balvenie 14. That or a number of Bourbons or Ryes. I've taste tested Four Roses small batch against the Balvenie 14 and it's every bit as good if not better.
But now with trying to change my habits, I'll just be a mostly wine and beer guy with the occasional Whiskey before bed or with a cigar.

Bob, I have very simple tastes in Scotch. JW SWING is my favorite but hard to get in PA. Smooth and relatively inexpensive at around $70-$75 . Prefer blended. I've had one drink in the past 4 months because I'm not at the lake. Used it to try to help me sleep.....didn't work like everything else I've tried.
