TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Bah...yer just a miserable old pr*ck!......how did that read? because I was laughing....
I like the bars so far and the seat. But considering what I'm coming from, even the brakes are an upgrade. As fsr as seats, I've looked at Saddleman in the past and may consider something like that if I need to. But for now the only thing I'd consider I'd the KlockWerx as far as a changing parts. Otherwise, adding a couple things. I'm serious, I never knew what I was missing!
As far as the wife as a passenger, being on that bike won't (as you know) feel anything like being on the Bones. Totally different experience. With a decent seat and tourpack she may come to really enjoy it. Cheryl is so comfortable she has actually fallen asleep on it on long trips.
I'm kidding Stan. I don't recall saying I didn't like the fairing. I believe I said it worked well and I couldn't feel much difference between it and the batwing save for it feels weird that it's so far away vs the batwing. But I'm sure I would adjust. And I actually prefer the look of the Road Glide to the Street Glide in some respects.
But the bars I do hate. Doesn't make it a bad bike. I just find them very uncomfortable. But someone must like them because they put them on there for a reason. What are your thoughts on the bars? Do they feel natural to you?
Tell you what though, 23 mpg when we went to TN this past summer, and towed 14k easily. Pulls our 6k rv like it isn't even there. It's awesome.
I think she should try the head/bag approach.
Yeah, just ride it for awhile. You'll know what you need once the need arises.

Just the miserable son of a bitches riding them is my only other complaint.

Personally I like the fairing out away from me, and at 6' the stock bars work well in my experience, but that doesn't mean it works for everyone.
Thanks
