I'm not really into murder mysteries myself. Been mostly leadership or military books. This indian book was outside my norm. I like post apocalyptic movies so my mom thought I'd like The Stand. I know it will be a good book. Also want to read 1984.

During that period the Osage Indians were the wealthiest people on earth. All oil and the White man thought they weren't capable of managing their affairs.

The description talks about the birth of the FBI. I find that fascinating. I enjoy crime and serial killer books as well. James Patterson, the Alex Cross series. I have those on my Kindle. I haven't read much nonfiction much lately though.

I think I read all of Ed McBain's (Evan Hunter) 87th Precinct novels. Police procedurals. And a few of his other works. Had to read The Blackboard Jungle when in school. Not too much into paranormal and that. I read The Shining.

Evening gents! Awaiting our "Winter Storm" which should be here any minute. I recall the days when a snow was just a snow and a Winter Storm was something significant, like at least 12 inches.

We got a lot of hail today and snow in the mountains. Winter is back! Should be getting 7-12" of rain this week starting tomorrow night.

Great book. I would say his best. I read it when it first came out. I was shocked at how poorly edited it was. Hopefully by this edition they cleaned it up a bit. None the less, the story is fascinating. I'm pretty sure The Walking Dead is a Stand ripoff. No zombies, but zombies are beside the point on TWD anyway. If you watched TWD, you'll notice a strong similarity between Rick Grimes and Stu Redmann.

Read a couple of Baldacci's. I think Glo has read them all.
McBain had a few much deeper things than most of the 87th series. But even those made ya think. The humanity he wrote into his main character was pretty compelling.
