Off topic a bit.....but then what isn't?? As a retired mechanic, I have a bunch of good tools. Somewhere along the line in the last 10 years or so, I bought a set of MAC 3/8 drive deep six point sockets. Used common sizes on my bikes and what now. Mounted running boards on my Traverse and needed a 16mm socket. No problem, I'll grab one outta the box. First socket I pulled was a 15, so obviously the next is 16. Used it and thought "Gee, this is pretty snug" so I double checked and lo and behold!! It was a 5/8!! So I was looking for a local MAC tool truck. Went to NAPA store today to order some drill bits for school and there was a MATCO truck at the repair shop next door. Great! So I wandered over and talked to the tool guy. Well MATCO and MAC are two different companies. One of the wrenches at the repair shop said the MAC guy comes in next Tuesday. So maybe I can exchange the 5/8 for a 16mm socket. I could have bought one from any of the local big box stores, but I'm **** about matching sets. So I gotta remember to head to the repair shop next Tuesday.
Otherwise I did have a nice drive with a bright orb shining in my eyes. Seems nice to see sunlight!!!

G'Afternoon, Woods...
Would have been nice if this country had gone metric 50 years ago. Don't need as many tools, not as likely to find 4 socket sizes on 6 similar size bolts. Wouldn't have mixed metric and SAE sizes on cars like I've run into many times on American brand cars. And you could cruise a lot faster on the highway, 120 instead of 70!
Sounds good Chuck! You got lucky. The ones that were here last were a bunch of Mexicans, no English. They had lots of complaints and were sued allot.
Metric? As long as the thi g your working on is consistent, i am fine either way. I seem to have things that are mixed...

Nothing electrical about today's project or I certainly would have, Dan. Happy to report a single Home Depot visit, so far, is all. Taking a break to eat....are ya ready, my Southern friends...
a cold meatloaf sandwich.
