His answers must have satisfied the pilot. I heard the phrase “MEL” which means minimum equipment listing. That is mechanic speak for “You don’t need that stuff, fly the airplane”.

I think you are on to something. I think we should all adopt the Canadian way and the 1st things out of our mouths (so to speak) should be a well thought out, 3 part apology.
