TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Thanks - Maybe the best of both worlds for Hydro Man.
Long rides to maybe see Markus and somewhere else I've never been, followed by the hysterics and antics of a IMC 2% gathering. LOL

New Guy
Afternoon, Gents.
New guy here. My name is Bill.
I want to participate so think that I should be brought up to speed on the rules and culture.....
Have fun today, whatever you're doing.

- TOAK...I expected to find deep philosophical discussions, but instead found in-depth conversation on vacuum cleaners. I have a wall mounted shop vac. It has umpteen horsepower, too.
- What is the story behind the "Woods"? And am I allowed to use it?
- Why does Juan L have so many names? Russ and Raoul that I've seen so far.
Have fun today, whatever you're doing.

In 2018 my daughter and I stayed at the motel 8 at the left in the photo. Nothing fancy, just adequate and fairly inexpensive. The light gray pavement on the right wraps around behind the trees above it and that's where the house is the rest of the guys will be staying. Short walk, but damned steep hill to walk up doesn't show it in the photo. If the guys have room in one of the garages, you wouldn't have to leave the new bike in a motel parking lot, though there will probably be plenty of bikes there and I doubt anyone would mess with a Harley when there's so many Harley guys around. Should be plenty of guys with pickups that could play taxi for you, too, I got a lift a couple of times, much appreciated.

Sometimes that gets a new boss. Probably not the way you'd want to, though. I've been there, but never got a new boss over it. Wanted to a few times.

Hi Bill,
To answer your questions... hmm, why does Russ have so many names? Answers to the other questions wood be similar. We have fun with "wood", as I just did. Also used in greetings (Mornin, Woods). You may notice that we occasionally slay each other verbally, but a word of caution, that's when we've gotten to know each other. This is more than just a chat room kind of thread, too, most of us have actually met several of the others and consider each other friends. Never have too many friends, and the group has grown.

Almost forgot, in that photo there's a white trailer in the center; there's a long dirt area there used for trailer parking if you trailer, but it sounds like you're riding.
I did hear that the TOAK overnight parking fee can be quite significant though ........
