TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII

Leave me to my '60's rock and roll, old time country, GRIT TV and MeTV, thank you very much...and get off my damn lawn.

I'll post before reading this time.
House that burned had a family with 6 kids, had some real young ones, too. It went fast, if they'd been asleep in the early morning hours, could have had a real tragedy. A neighbor set up a go fund me page with more information, and there's a similar one on facebk. Kids are unharmed, the rest can be dealt with. Just two adults, lot of kids, traditional American names, not one of those multi-generation families in one house things.
One of my daughter's best friends since they were 8 lost her husband last night. Long time fighting an aggressive cancer, lot of surgeries, only survived the last couple years because he got on experimental treatments at Mayo Clinic. Yesterday at his request the hospital set up a special exception to the covid rules and let his wife and 3 kids visit. They took his ventilator out, he got to say goodbye, and died with his wife beside him. I really like him, and his wife spent a lot of time at my house growing up. I knew it was a matter of time, but hoped they would have one more Christmas together. He was supposed to go home again yesterday, but something went real bad real fast, and his wife got the call that he wouldn't make it this time. This year has sucked in so many ways. If my daughter has a healthy baby, her house addition gets finished without problems, and we're all still healthy then, I'll feel blessed.

Al, sadly neither of us are pre-pubescent teens (although at times we act as such) with a great marketing department and no talent.

Eavning all. Thanks for the update Mike. Very sad indeed. Hopefully some good will come out of it. A tragedy can bring out the best in people.
Have a couple friends that did SERE school. Sounded crazy hard but my friends that went are some tough SOB's. Sadly one of them got valley fever after doing 27 years Airborne. Dam shame.
