Riding in the rain without a front fender makes you manly?...Jeez, I learned something new today.
I still remember the brown (mud) stripe up the back of us young bicycle riders with no rear fender.

I use the T-9 on my vintage bikes to protect the aluminum without attracting dirt. But it works on all sorts of stuff.

The key to the T-9 is to spray it on a clean surface and let it dry overnight. Then buff it off. I would hit those springs once a month with the T-9. They just never did a great job of chroming in between the coils.
