John, why will one of the units be shut down for 40 days?

 

Fall outage. "Fix" a bunch of stuff before we get into the long winter stretch. Usually do a fall one, then a spring one right before summer

 

I see. Does one unit produce enough power?

 

That's a loaded question. We do it in the fall/spring because demand is usually low. What we don't make, other units are supposed to make up. Otherwise we have to buy power from other producers at a marked up price. Right now we do anyway, because it's green power and we have to use it to diversify our portfolio, but it's really just a waste of money to look good for the hippies
