I've read a few Louis L'Amour myself. Always enjoyed them

I may have missed a few of his, but not many.

Then I grew up and got into Ed McBain.

Also the original Tarzan books by Edgar Rice Burroughs are good.

Only what I had to read for schoolin'. My Dad was into that stuff.

Captain Blood by Rafael Sabatini is a cool read.

I like Stephen King but it is certainly material not for a 9 year old. He has some really gross stuff
