So what did your neck bearings look like once removed? Hammered races? Pitted rollers?

 

 

It wasn't terrible, but don't wanna do it again.
Hammered races, yes, pitted rollers, no.
I ended up using a Dremel to cut the races out and off of where they were. Time consuming trying to be careful in a confined area. This after trying to use the service manual's suggestion of heating the race on the stem til it falls off. Wasted 1/2 an hour with that. I will probably have to make an adjustment to the fall-away after I get a ride in.

 

Heating the stem till the race falls off? With what, A torch???
