Lou, you have about 150,000 miles on your Softail and you haven’t done the neck bearings?

143,000 and it's due. The neck bearings are indexed but feel fine. I've adjusted them a few times. It's probably the only thing that I have not rebuilt.

Im not really looking forward to it, but I’m getting a good clunk so I was gonna dive in and check them, so I may as well just replace them while I have it apart. That my logic anyway.

Yup. You might as well. It will probably be the last time you do it. Probably the hardiest bearing on the bike.

The only special tool wood be the spanner for the adjustment nut.
