Someone suggested Arkansas, if that happens, would be a nice ride down 61 along the Mississippi to I-40 at Memphis. Take longer than I-35/Highway 71, but not as boring. If my daughter wants to go again, I'd probably trailer, but I'd like to ride 61 down there some day. Would your wife come, too?
