Gonna be a lot of stress cracks eventually, if there aren't already some under the paint. Worst I've seen was leading edges worn down enough the whole rivet head had an air gap to the skin from Mt. Saint Helen's ash cloud in '78. Also, those media blast paint removers will do the same thing with an operator that doesn't use it right, seen some awful skin damage from those. But the airline just covered it with paint and flew them anyway. Good thing most aircraft are way overengineered for strength. I'd put Airbus near the bottom of the strength list, they have some pretty minimal areas, lot of their structure looks delicate compared to Boeing or MD.

They supply back-up power for assorted different kinds of telco equipment.

I can tell you this, if you get a little careless with the cables, it makes one hell of a welder !
