If I don't count tires, oil, and around $500 I spent fixing up a wrecked bike, I don't think I've spent $900 total on maintenance on all the bikes I've had, but I never bought a new Harley, just Japanese bikes, and they never needed much. That's going to change big time when I get the new parts that will go into the Tour Glide rebuild, though, will top $2000 easy. The Electra Glide sidecar rig is going to be close to $500 when it gets back on the road, too. Money saving solution: don't ever buy a Harley. What the hell, can't take it to the grave anyway.

Moldie....new bike parts are expensive! Two switch packs changed out at dealer for Ultra was $500....covered by extended warranty. I wouldn't want to pay for a computer module or anything serious.

Yep ... but with all the electrical doo dads on these scooters today one mishap or malfunction can put a dent in the wallet

Yep...that was my thinking. I looked at it as same as insuring my bikes and everything else. Don't want to total up what my insurance costs are for 3 bikes, 1 ATV, 3 cars, 2 houses and a high liability policy...another $25 /month is nothing added in. I broke out even so far on this ESP and still have a few months to go. I'll renew it for another 2 years.

You said this while sipping your tea and holding your pinky ( no, not that pinky ) erect, right?
