W18's - battery report: 12.2V at rest, 8 something with the light on. Noco smart charger tried for 2 hours, gave up and told me my battery was ****. I bet if we'd made it to Rushmore and turned it off, I would have had to retrieve it there. Glad it quit where it did. Bike's still on the trailer, for some reason both knees are really stiff today, but the ankles and left foot are ok (for the rest of you, I probably shifted more on Needles than in the last two years in Minnysota, just put it in high gear and leave it for most curves here). Tomorrow, put the old battery back in (charges up, loses it if it sits a few days) to ride it up the driveway. I'll see if I can get the battery replaced under warranty, should for less than a year old, and use it in the Ural maybe. NOT the Sporty, that gets a new Decca, most amps I can find, not a locally bought off the shelf house brand saying it's made by Decca, like the failure was.

For the rest of the woods, the Woodstock '18 crew wasted no time putting that dead sportster on the trailer, never could have done it by myself. Made them late starting their ride, good brothers. That was Friday, was going to take it easy with my daughter by ourselves anyway, just cruise by Rushmore, no great loss, we still had a good day. Couldn't have asked for better people to spend some time with.
