When I am slowing down and down shifting between 3 to 2 to 1. Sometimes the shifter just looses touch and feels like it isn't connected. I have to push down 2 or 3 times for it to connect. Hard to explain as well. Any clue or is this normal operation? Only happens once in a while. More when I am ruling it actually more I think of it.
Check your linkage from the foot shifter back to the lever that attaches to the transmission. You don't want anything too sloppy or so tight that it binds. i'd be looking for sloppy in your case. Pay close attention to the shift lever on the transmission, they are cast and have a bad habit of stripping out. If it's loose tighten down the bolt and call me and I'll sell you a real lever.

It's been like this since the begining. I do need to check the arm I replaced a couple weeks ago to make sure it's tight. I will also do what you suggest as well.

Thanks for the idea of what to look for Mark.

Wonder what that will do to his taxes? At least he won't have to change his state on his drivers license and other paper work.

Just make sure the joints on the long rod going from the foot control are free and not binding. On the sloppy side make sure they are not so loose that when shifting it puts the long rod on an angle to the point where it can bind.

What about the abbreviations, NC and SC are all ready taken. Maybe UC and LC?

One it wont get passed here and two congress wood never agree to it. Its funny that how ever they try to divide it up the left will be in control. It will never happen.
