Trish and My friend Don VanThomme and his wife Tina ran a nursery/greenhouse operation in Sutton’s Bay Mi.( Plantmasters). They built the business from the ground up by themselves. They worked like slaves in season and knew how to enjoy what little time they had off. The business was very successful and they owned a beautiful home on Sutton’s Bay. Trish and I used to snowmobile with them on occasion and were guests at their other home in Grand Marais , Mi. Don was in his mid 60s. We had not been in touch with them for the last couple years but we will miss him just the same.

Oh, just more of the same except that I got a snotty email from our "designer" who thinks he's an engineer. I responded in a very harsh tone and copied all the senior management in the company. I'm certain he'll feel quite embarrassed after the dressing down I gave him and the "engineering" department. Should raise quite a few questions as well.

It's been pretty humid and warm. Beers have been good though!

Sounds as if the battery maintainer may be shorted.

I don’t get it Dan . All I did was pull two eight year old batteries out and put two new ones in. I found one wire ( sensor wire) on one of the alternators that had melted insulation from resting against the exhaust manifold but that doesn’t seem significant enough to blow both alternators.

Russ, that may have been what did it. When I went to reconnect it to the new batteries it sparked a little. It’s disconnected completely now but do you think it could take out both alternators in an instant?
