Dug into my library and pulled out some of Capstick's stuff. He was a PH in Africa. Also was a Game Management Officer for a while basically a Warden. Part of the job was elephant cropping. If you hunt it's fascinating stuff. They built a meat factory just for that purpose. When you kill elephants that have over populated an area, you have several dozen tons of red meat that didn't go to waste. The way they cropped was incredibly dangerous. When a certain herd was chosen, they would sneak in on foot within a few dozen yards, and calmly shoot and kill a dozen or so elephants. Being in the midst of that many screaming charging animals that stand 11 to 13 ft tall, and weigh several tons each, is about as dangerous a game as one can play. He quit after a few short years. Decided living, drinking, and enjoying red headed women was better, lol
