Just remembered, Dirk Pitt from the Clive Cussler novels. But I could swear I've seen it on tv, somebody must have borrowed the idea. In the 60's I worked a while at the Kansas City airport on the Kansas side (long gone), and a company pilot had a room at the back of a hangar; when he was there, could be wheels up in half an hour or less.
