Looks like I need to run to Lowe's.

Found my doorbell thingy. Didn't even know this house had a doorbell.

You'll be lucky if you fix wiring like that without running into a whole bunch more problems. I had several boxes in this house with no standoffs/clamps, just wires running through the holes - even a few where they pried the corners apart and shoved wires in without using a knockout. Got a shower of sparks out of a kitchen recessed light taking it out, shorted because it was like the one in your pic. I'd pulled the breaker, but found out some of the kitchen wiring was so screwed up things were hot off as many as 3 breakers. When I was rewiring the house it was so bad in some areas I just pulled the main breaker.

House is 3 levels and basement. I pulled all the wallboard out of the main and lower levels, wasn't in great shape anyway and almost impossible to redo the wiring with it in place. Upstairs, just poked a few holes in the walls. Don't know how this house passed code inspections, and the VA loan required inspection didn't pick any of it up either when I bought it. I saw it on the first look, but got it cheap and I don't worry about wiring I've done.

Wall angles just to the right of the stove, tore that down and made it straight. Was weird looking and awkward. Replaced most of the greenfield with romex so I could get runs wired right with the circuit breakers.

My Granddaughter usually goes right to sleep in a car. That worked yesterday.
