Mom and Dad bought one a few years ago, ice maker, water dispenser the whole nine yards. Right from new, the ice maker didn't work. Company said they would get it repaired. 5 years later, still not working.
Ours lasted 10 years. If you get 10 years out of an appliance now, you're doing good. During the ice age freeze the last couple weeks, I pulled the fridge out and vacuumed the back, the vents and the compressor. Hopefully that will make it run cooler and last longer. Also drained out the hot water tank to get rid of the sediment.

We built our house in 2003. So far we replaced the washer and dryer, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and hot water tank. Stove will be next.

No, that was a repair job. Didn't fix ****. Same shitty attitude and only works when it wants.
