TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part X
That's pretty cool Lou. I like your Mom.
In a good way.
So far so good on the festivities. Cheryl likes her gifts - expensive boots and Cashmere bath robe (win/win on that one). I got a hefty gift certificate to my local gun shop sufficient to buy the CZ Tactical I want. The Bloody Mary's and Sangria are flowing freely, some harvested goose liver pate and Wisconsin cheese so far, and the kids haven't violated my space so all is well.
I hope all of you are having a great day!

Merry Christmas Toakers. Single barrel, doesn't agree with me. Bought a bottle once and ended up giving it away. Doing the gift stuff tomorrow, as someone has to keep the lights burning
All is quiet on the Eastern front....The Huns charge began about 10:00....They breached our outer defenses and streamed thru the opened portals like a pack of hungry wolves.
Their encroachment was followed closely by the Visigoths from next door, who had been lying concealed in ambush until the bloodthirsty hordes from up on the hill made their first advances.
It was mass mayhem and destruction for the old folks who inhabited the castle. Carnage reigned supreme, and when the smoke & dust had settled there was precious left.
Nothing of value really, just some worthless trinkets and a few scraps of food which the hungry dogs were picking over.
But, the walls are still standing, and the old ones are still strong.
As has happened so many times before, they will begin the process of rebuilding their fortunes. Readying themselves for the next attack, which they are sure will be coming sooner than they wish.
For now though, they will rest, and savor the quiet peace which follows the battle.
