When I lived in a tent in another country, the washer was a galvanized metal garbage can and you pumped up and down with a pipe with an upside down big funnel fastened on the bottom. Strangely enough, it worked quite well. 9 months my clothes were washed outside, and in the rainy season, there was no drying, you just wrung them out as best you could by hand and then put them on. That still beat how the locals did by a considerable factor; picture Mom washing clothes in a muddy ditch, young girl washing dishes and preparing food next to her in the same muddy water, and two little boys walk to the ditch next to Mom and pee in the water. For real. I never, ever, ate the local food!

Almost forgot, if they'd gotten a dog, that was probably what the girl was fixing for dinner...

Gee, Moldy...i thought I was the only one that lived that lives in a tent in Pueblo, Colorado.

But seriously, I know we are all thankful for having our basic needs met
