Wow, that doesn't even make sense Lou!! I'm a Sub Contractor bidding on a project. Drawings were done by a local Architectural Firm here. I'm merely bidding on the plans I'm submitted....

I've built new construction homes here, including my duplexes that I recently sold. A City Permit here for a typical new construction residential is about $200

When I built my Duplexes tho, the City required me to submit FULLY ENGINEERED blueprints. Not for the Goddamn buildings themselves, but for the water and sewer line layout only.

This was 8 yrs ago, and the Engineered blueprints for sewer and water line only cost me $18,000

I was going to build a plant nursery/coffee shop on my commercial property. We had about 14k in approved plans before we gave up. This was about a year before the housing bubble burst. Glad I didn't go through with it. Estimated 240k for a 20'×40' two story building. Wood have sunk me.

Each time the county wanted a change to the plans it cost me 1200 for a new set of drawings. They did that to me 7 times.

Funny, they promote growth, but pretty damn hard to do when they pull crap like that.
