Larry, if ya can't fix it with a hammer......it must be a 'lektrikal problem!
I have to do it the "hard headed Italian" way......funny thing is a rebuild kit is around $8-$10. I've seen some new carbs on e-bay for as little as $10.50

Yep .. Needle and seat with bowl gasket was $14.00 for mine ( with no float ) ... a brand new carb was $22.00 ... No brainer :>)

I was going to go that route if I couldn't get it running right. Thing never seemed to run right since it was new....always wanted "choke". Of course I would always remember that during the winter and without a heated garage at my mother's, I wasn't tearing into it. The float was set so far off, it's a wonder it even ran. Purring like a kitten now. Changing the oil now....yer s'posed to change it every 15 years...right????

We went out last night and it was 38 out. Had to wear a jacket. Pissed me off. Even used the heated seat! Sucks I tell ya sucks! Already pissed about it and it's not even here fully yet....
