Wow Ken the throat of dat carb needs some TLC so passages are gonna need it too obviously. I bought a hydro sonic cleaner from Harbor Freight cheap and some purple power cleaner for small carbs that works pretty good but I still blast as much crud off with Gummout and a toothbrush first to keep the hydro sonic solution clean...I loves me some quad projects...I just picked up a new rear rack used from E Bay complete with extension rails cheap. I am finding some used parts go a long way to freshen up an old used quad like mine. It is looking much less banged up and also found a solution of 60% thinner and 40% mineral spirits can clean up plastic body work and reduce oxydation. My black pieces are now not so grey! I'll spray bomb the racks and then the rims and I'll be pretty much done. It ran great at deer camp. Just had aftermarket Atv steel cage rack boxes that buzzed and rattled so took them off. Tke new rail will give me places to strap/ bungie cord items to the racks. The Polaris 400 is a much heavier duty machine then the little 2wd Kaw it replaced.

BTW guys the "Taryl Fixes All" you tube small engine/ lawn mower repair videos are the best kept secret on you tube since Red Green at the Possum Lodge. Freakin' hysterical! And he has dozens of tips fer fixin' snomoblowers with fercumpsme carbs or even Chonda (Chinese/Honda) clone motors used since 2009 on all blowers and lawn tractors...

BTW Mates new gear review on Troy Bilt Chonda powered 243 cc 2840 snowblower on record setting 9 inch one day snow fall. To whit: this thing rocks It replaces the entry level Storm 2410 179cc powered entry level TroyBilt I used for NiNE YEARS with no problems other then cleaning the carb varnish from cheap gas and still kicked butt in suburban 3 car short driveway conditions. The new one is the same Honda Pattern Chinese made (ball bearing crank) motor only bigger and, sad to say only an idjit thinks the old Briggs or Tecumseh motors were better...long sigh... if ya use stabil these things start easier, as in first pull.... electric start totally unnecessary even for a heart patient...harumph...bubbly citracell fart. No starting spray snort even needed, but the snort is your friend on old snow blowers or thar first start of the year ar deer camp or Turkey Camp grin... It rips through the EOD (end of driveway mess) and barely slows down. It is a little heavier to turn around but no need for a 3rd stage butt auger Jules Verne looking probe thing that costs hundreds more IMHO. Now if only one time I could remember to push the damn button to turn on The HEATED GRIPS and plug in the Lectric BALL WARMER the retired COASTIE ICE BREAKER/PHONE DUDE wired up to my fur lined skivvy lectric shorts, don't even laugh you rat bastird poserian toakers my nuts are startin to hang so low after a hot shower after my 62nd birthday they're in danger of frost bite...so I also recomend Cabellas fleece lined drawers...
