and we're waking up to 14° and about 4" of snow on top of a heavy covering of ice.
Should be a fun morning getting this stuff cleaned off!!!
Mornin Doc. Heading up to Blackduck this morning. 65 miles northwest of here. Granddaughter coaches a 6th grade girls basketball team. They are in a tournament today. Don’t want granddaughter traveling in this weather by herself. So I’m driving her today. Leaving at 8am. Will probably get home after supper time.

Have a friend about 4 miles east of the town on county 13. Real nice lakes in that area, spent a day on one of them and only saw one other boat. Lots of eagles, deer of course, and saw my first MN black bear there. He's got a log cabin house, and the garage has a Herman the duck sign from the old Republic Airlines hanging on it, can see it from the road if you don't blink going by. Built the first elevated deer stand in the area, said neighbors thought that was crazy, putting your hide way up on posts. Couple years later, they were all over the area. Has to repair his about every year, bears tear off the cross members and ladder steps. Perfect place for him to retire, he loves hunting and fishing. Years ago I looked around up there and saw a couple places I could've paid cash for, but was saving for early retirement. Now I'm retired and probably couldn't afford any of them. That's ok, I don't think I want to live anywhere colder than here, any direction I'd move to would have to have "south" in it.
me too, only good thing about winter...........huh thats weird , can't think of one damn thing!!
Up here at least, it's dark a lot later in the morning. No riding, might as well sleep in. There's a downside to that, though, gets dark again so damned quick, and then you ain't sleepy for 8 hours of dark. I'll try to think of something else good about winter. Might take a while...
