Sorry to hear that Doc....sounds like he had a good run ,though. I've been to too many of those lately. Friend of mine who I grew up with, he taught with my wife, died last week. First day of deer season, his son found him in his tree stand. Guy climbed into his stand and took a heart attack, never had time to put his jacket back on.

Morning Al.. My dad was in it. Up through Africa , Sicily ( went through town where his parents were from) into Italy. Bronze star awarded to him. After the war in Rome , walking down the street met his brother who was in the navy. They didn't even know either one of them was there.

May he RIP. That's the 3rd person I've heard of this season who was found in the woods dead of a heart attack.

Funny when you look back... 17 yrs old, ready for what ever the world has to bring to you, signing up for what you believe is the thing that you need to do, unafraid of what lies ahead. Some even snuck in younger, my father-in-law was one of those guys, 16 yrs old and ready to take on the world!

Yep....That's why wars are fought by young men.....Young, dumb and full of .....and haven't realized yet that they are NOT bulletproof.
It is a real eye opener when the light of realization finally comes on.
