Only one company making them. Aguila. They are 1 3/4 inch’s instead of normal 2 3/4. Lower recoil. Thought they would be good for granddaughters and daughter in law to shoot. Have only fired couple boxes of low base trap loads through it and recoil wasn’t bad.

I think the shape of the raptor grip on it makes it much more manageable to handle the recoil. It is fun to shoot. Just got done putting the laser sight and light on it. When ya put the light in strobe mode it is impressive.

Few years ago I was watching a guy I knew teaching some kids around 12 to shoot with an AR15. Couple girls that were enjoying it, too. Then he talked one of the kids' mother into trying it (she'd never fired a gun before). She fired it once and freaked out, couldn't understand how anyone would want to do that. Imagine if he'd handed her a .308 or a 12 ga (had both), that would have really been fun. Some folks just aren't mentally equipped for it.

Granddaughters and daughter in law just stood back and watched us shooting. They didn’t want to try it. Maybe they will change their mind when I show them the difference in the shells.

My daughter wanted nothing to do with guns, but when she was 11, took her out for lunch or something, and on the way home, stopped at an indoor range. Had a .22 rifle and a .357 pistol (only pistol I have) in the trunk. She was kind of angry till she fired the first .22. When it was empty, she crammed rounds back in the clip as fast as could. She fired a few hundred .22s and several loads of .38s, and has liked shooting since. Got her a Browning .22 Buckmark for her 16th Christmas, and she got her first deer while in college. Don't remember what rifle she used, had a few to choose from by then.
It wasn't that I wanted her to like guns, but wanted her to know how they worked and at least some basic safety. Too many kids getting hurt when they get an opportunity to mess with a gun without knowing a thing about it.
