Hi Mark, Rocket, just peeking in and seeing who's doing what. Enjoying my granddaughter today, and spent another 6 grand this morning, ordered a new furnace and ac. Both are working fine, though the ac got noisier this summer and took longer to cool off. Considering my age, this should be the last time I have to replace them, would almost certainly have to before selling the place. Now I can get some use out of my money - and lower utility bills hopefully, 80% furnace to 96% and a higher seer ac. Water heater while they're at it, company doesn't do those, but said they'll put it in if I buy one. Current one is just over 30 years old! That one's living on borrowed time.
I replaced water heater earlier this year. Replaced furnace a month ago furnace rated at 96% so will be getting a$300 to 350 rebate from the gas company. So furnace should end up costing me $2400. Don’t have central air. Don’t have any air conditioning in the house. When it gets too hot I go up to the lake and stay in my camper. It’s got air conditioning in it.
We have a window shaker upstairs, one downstairs and a floor unit the does heat, air, humidifier, dehumidifier. I don't even want to know what our power bill is.

Those window ac units gulp 'lectricity compared to central air. I had a window unit for a few years before getting the current central air setup, and was surprised when my summer bill dropped quite a bit with the much bigger system. With rate hikes, has finally got up to where most days get over 75, I can top $100 by a few bucks. Still cheaper than Phoenix was, had a bill over $300 back in the 80's, $200 wasn't unusual.
Gonna watch some more baseball tonight. Only 3 more games for the season. Down to 35* already low tonight as low as 25*. Only got 42* for the high today. Looks like summer is over.
