Didn't stay on it for long after I heard it, but I don't really think so. If I'm not mistaken, (correct me if I'm wrong Mark!) the DD6 is 1:1 in 6th so it doesn't have a whole lot of pick up especially going up a grade like I was. RPMs were probably at about 2700

I'm with Lou here so many times it's the simple stuff. Your dealing with a new rig now brother let it shake a little, if it's going to fail it will let you know pretty quick.

Yeah, maybe I'm just being a little paranoid. Like I said I night just go pick it up tomorrow if I can get a few things done around the farm first.

You are right that it'S 1:1 as far as the transmission is concerned. We overdrive the primary to get the rpm drop with the DD6. Which means that when you are in 6th it's like having a 14% overdrive.

Morale of the story Tracy is there is not going to be roll on power in 6th. Kick it back to 5th until your back up to speed. I think you know this but does it feel like you had roll on power before the motor work?

I do understand what you're saying. The circumstances were that I had been cruising at about 80mph, had to slow down just a little to about 75 before passing a car going uphill although it's not what I'd call a steep grade. But then hell I live in a part of KY were it damn near all hills and what I call a shallow grade might be someone else's steep one.

I did downshift after I heard it and the noise disappeared.

I'm always happy to hear your "tech jargin" buddy. I learn a little more each time and that's a good thing.

Have a great night!
