Metal on metal man.
Might be a lifter or valve issue, but the heads were machined and rebuilt when we did the top end.
It kind of sounded like the way a car does when it's under load and doesn't have high enough octane gas, but more harsh like if that makes any sense. I guess because it was so close and not under a hood.
The bike runs like a raped ape since the build, but I figger on riding it to CA next year and just want to make sure all is OK..

I always say let it develop Tracy. Hope it's not a wrist pin clip or something in the lower end. A lot can be seen by cutting the filter open.

Sinch up those exhaust flanges. See if the floorboards are hitting the pipes. Loose pipe shield.

Might be for the best to do just that Lou. He guarantees his work so maybe I'm just worrying too much. That's the only time I have heard it, but it was a BAD sound to me especially after I had just forked out the kind of money I did.

No man this was absolutely in the #1 cylinder. Hell I was damn near riding Apache style hanging over the side of the bike listening to it.

I'd be checking pushrod adjustment first maybe give them a hair more tension , keep hearing it pop a lifter block and check the rollers. You hear it at an idle too or just under load ?
