There was evidence that it had been leaking a lil already. Other stuff on the under side of the bike were dirty, more so than from just regular riding. Guess when it is just a lil at a time you don't notice the pedal getting soft.

Greg, I will have to look closer at it to see if it is split but the pic sure makes it look that way

 

Markus, you replace it with braided line??

 

I couldn't find a braided line from an HD shop so I will wrap the line with something to prevent any wear on the new one. This one is all rubber, except for the ends.

 

Ok, well keep an eye on it after you replace it...
