A few years ago, when I traded my 19 month old Heritage with 23k miles. The dealer said " Put it back to stock and sell the extras for what you can get because I can't give you a nickel extra for them"

Rich, you've probably bought and sold enough vehicles to know what they allowed on trade is not the same number as the ACV (actual cash value). That figure is what they set it in at and any amount they allowed over that became a discount off the selling price of the bike they were selling.

My biggest complaint about buying a new bike is the fact they make you buy the sisssy bar bracket thing. That should come stock on a new bike. It's like $350 bucks too, not including the backrest. They charge to install it too, about $150 bucks. so it's an added $500 before you leave the dealer just in case you wanna ride the ole lady around.

I knew going in the would either low ball the price of the trade in and then give me a hell of a deal on the new one or visa versa. It's all a game. I knew what I walking into. They gave my excellent condition BB value. not a dime more.

As long as you are happy with what you got that is all that matters. I love these guys that bitch they paid 800 bucks more than they should have....ya keep something 8 years, that's 100 bucks a year...about 30 cents a day.

I hear Joey Heatherton singing "Hey, Big Spender" as I am typing.

They get spoiled once they hit 40. Before that you make em hold on, no backrest offered or expected. Once you put a ring on it, backrest, back rub and eventually you wind up forking over cash so they can have their own personal bike because they don't like your music.
Should have heard the **** I took from the brothers. I'm still listening to it.

I love my wife but I could probably have three girlfriends for the same cost.
