A hopper will last all night on smoke setting. You can adjust the smoke setting as well, referred as the P-#. What that does is augers the pelts for 15 seconds and by adjusting the p#, it signals how long the break is between auger get more pellets into the smoke tray. While it augers, the lighting rod is on and that is what gets the pellets going.
Is it cheap to run? No, I don think it is by no means. It all depends on how much you use it, temp you use it at (smoke setting or 425F), weather, wind... I use ours in the winter and it likes its pellets. But it does maintain its temp quite well.

Is it too much to ask that on flights to the PNW that there is at least ONE attractive woman with her own natural hair color (not green or blue), not wearing Birkenstocks, and at least height/weight proportionate in yoga pants?
