The sprocket alignment marks are pointed outboard just like the first pic I posted. The links of the chain that are supposed to match up to those marks are way off.

I see the black links are not even close. Does it line up any closer if you take it through a few revolutions?

Not even close. I only went round a couple times though. I'll check it agin tomorrow though.

Good point Russ. Wonder how many revolutions it takes to line the 3 marks up.

Dave , it looks like you have three black links marked in your picture. In the example picture there are 23 links between the black timing links. It also appears there are 23 links between two of your black links. Maybe the third black link should land on the crank gear ?

It looks like he has to rotate it a bit more clockwise to get everything to line up if it does.
